Our Story

At DB Locks, security isn't just our business—it's our passion. Founded by master locksmith Danny Baxter, our journey started over 30 years ago with a bit of childhood mischief. As a young boy, Danny would "borrow" his mother’s knitting needles to pick the back door lock, just so he could escape outside and play. While his mother wasn’t too happy about her bent needles, this early curiosity sparked a lifelong dedication to solving security challenges.

Over the years, Danny's knack for innovation led to the creation of DB Locks. It all started when a customer needed a custom lock that wasn’t available on the market.—something that simply didn’t exist. Seeing a gap in the market, Danny got to work designing a custom solution, and from there, DB Locks was born.

Experience & Innovations

With decades of hands-on experience, Danny has developed and contributed to numerous locks and security devices. One standout innovation is the ERA Block Lock for Vans, a trusted solution he designed and sold to ERA over 15 years ago—still widely used today. In 1994, Danny founded DB Masterlocksmith, helping customers with everything from lockouts and key cutting to safe opening and automotive locksmithing. Since then, DB Locks has expanded, providing reliable security solutions to schools, councils, housing associations, and businesses of all kinds.
